Torchlight | Mac Os X
Torchlight 1.151 (Intel Full) | Mac Os X | Games | 457 MB
Word of Ember blazed across the land, and the town of Torchlight flared to life. Ember is the essence of magic and the keystone of alchemy; it lures the restless with promises of power and riches. Miners burrowed deep beneath the dirt streets of Torchlight, discovering veins of the ore richer than any found in living memory- but they were not the first to covet these mines. The miners broke through into the buried past, a dangerous labyrinth of caverns and ruined civilizations, twisted creatures and the bones of those who came before. Evil bubbles up from the depths and threatens to overrun this town as it has so many others. The heart of a villain has infused the Ember, and his darkness seeps through the veins. To survive, the townspeople must break the cycle of destruction; they need a champion who can destroy the evil at its root. Removing the source of the rot may purify the Ember, but it is a long and perilous journey. The champion must battle through rock and fire, through lost cities and ancient tombs, into the palace of the villain himself.
The adventure is set in the mining settlement of Torchlight, a boomtown founded on the discovery of rich veins of Ember – a rare and mysterious ore with the power to enchant or corrupt all that it contacts. This corruptive power may have dire consequences however, and players set out into the nearby mountains and depths below to discover the full extent of Ember’s influence on the civilizations that have come before.
Players will choose from among three character classes, and venture from the safety of the town of Torchlight into randomly generated dungeon levels, with a huge variety of creepy monsters, endless variations of loot to find, and quests to complete. The endless randomization ensures a long-lived gameplay experience.
An endless wanderer, who is drawn to conflict with his dual-welding blades, was led to Torchlight after hearing of the evils befallen it. Through channeling the power of his ancestors, the Destroyer excels at close-quarter combat and is able to smite his foes with such ferocity as to easily dispatch multiple enemies at once. With a strong sense of virtue, the Destroyer sets out to deal justice with his blades, but things may not be as simple in Torchlight as they appear.
With a darkness rising to cloud the Destroyer’s judgment, only time will tell whether or not the draw of Ember will tempt his soul into corruption.
Drawn to the power of Ember as a cornerstone of his magical art, the Alchemist came to Torchlight for his own ends. Being the largest cache of Ember ever found, the temptation may lead the Alchemist never being able to break free of its influence and ultimately to his downfall. The power of Ember is beyond imagining, but the price is very high.
By channeling the power of Ember, the Alchemist is able to dispatch enemies from afar as well as summon minions to his aid.
Part of an ancient order dedicated to justice and bringing balance to the world, the Vanquisher was sent out to Torchlight to investigate the mysterious slayings and missing town folks. Unknown to her, the darkness below the small town of Torchlight runs far deeper than the mines beneath. As an expert marksman, the Vanquisher is able to take enemies from afar as well as use traps to confuse and deliberate her foes from all directions.
The flow of Ember and the darkness below will test the Vanquisher’s skill and conviction to the fullest.
KEY FEATURES
* Randomization – Our level layouts are randomly created, so each adventure is unique. Monsters, treasures, puzzles, and items are also different each time you embark on an adventure.
* Easy, approachable interface – Torchlight is designed to be easy to play right from the beginning. The intuitive interface gives players easy access to a rich and varied world.
* Retirement System – Once characters are sufficiently leveled up, they can “retire” and bestow specific benefits and perks to new characters.
* Pets – Players will choose a pet to accompany them. Pets can level up along with the player, and will help in battle, carry items, and perform a variety of helpful services.
* Character Classes – Players will create and customize a character and choose an animal companion. Through cosmetic choices, skill path decisions, and the treasures they acquire, each character will be custom-tailored and different.
* Fishing – Players can take a break from the high-energy pace of adventuring to visit one of the fishing holes and relax and see what they can catch. Fish have interesting benefits for the player and pet, and other rewards can also be discovered
* Editor – Runic Games is embracing our modding community by providing an editor so our players can create and design their own content.

CrossOver Games 9.2.0 | Mac Os X
CrossOver Games 9.2.0 | Mac Os X | 54 MB
Now gamers can play the games they want, on whatever platform they want! With CrossOver Games, you can run many popular Windows games on your Intel OS X Mac or Linux PC. Whatever your tastes — first-person shooters, fantasy, strategy, MMORPGs — CrossOver Games lets you run many popular game titles. CrossOver comes with an easy to use, single click interface, which makes installing your games simple and fast. Once installed, your game integrates seamlessly with your Desktop. Just click and run! Best of all, you do it all easily and affordably, without needing a Microsoft operating system license.
CrossOver Games is built on the latest versions of Wine, based on contributions from both CodeWeavers and the open-source Wine community, and then lovingly hand-crafted by Stefan Dösinger, our very own Wine/Games connoisseur. Unlike other CrossOver products, which are aimed primarily at office productivity applications (and hence maximum stability), CrossOver Games aims to bring you the latest, greatest, bleeding edge improvements in Wine technology. This means that the newest games run faster and better under CrossOver Games than under other versions of CrossOver, or other version of free Wine, for that matter. You want to run your Mom's knitting software? Maybe you should look elsewhere. On the other hand, if you need better framerates on Linux or Mac so you can frag your buddies: check out CrossOver Games!
Mac Version
Intel-based Macintosh system running Mac OS X (note: CrossOver Games will not run on PowerPC systems)
120 MB of free disk space
Mac OS 10.5.x (Leopard) or later is recommended.
Some low end Mac systems with built in Video chip sets may not be able to play high performance first person games at full frame rates.
WHAT'S NEW Version 9.2: * Merged with Wine release 1.2.1. This includes bug fixes for several unsupported games, as well as fixing a crash in the launcher for Street Fighter IV and a lag in Team Fortress 2. * Fixed a bug that causes DRM problems on Ubuntu 10.10. * Fixed patching of StarCraft II (via an updated Gecko engine). * Fixed a problem that prevented StarCraft II from launching properly during the first run. * Fixed the sending of text in Worms Armageddon WormNET. * Improved behavior with built-in msvcr71. Should simplify the installation of several unsupported games, including Lord of the Rings Online. * Fixed a double mouse-pointer bug that appeared in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II on some Linux distributions. * Improved font rendering for Trainz 2004 and others. * Got Tomb Raider: Chronicles working again. * Fixed a serious rendering problem for Civilization V. |

Quake in your browser
The developer of the popular Quake game series, id Software, has released a closed beta of their newest prodigy, Quake Live. Based on the 1999 hit game Quake III Arena, Quake Live brings the same graphics and gaming experience to a browser near you -- if you own a Windows Vista or XP computer and have a Firefox (version 1.5, 2.0 or 3.0) or an Internet Explorer (version 6, 7 or 8) web browser. Quake Live does not support Mac, at least not yet.
Quake Live comes with pretty much all the same features as Quake III Arena -- character selection, control customization, video settings and full screen mode. As an addition it introduces gaming statistics and a friends list.
Quake Live should scale pretty well and you don't need the latest and greatest PC on the market. That being said, if you want to enjoy full graphics and details a netbook won't do it. Anyway, everyone obviously wants to see what it looks like so here's a video:

Singapore beat Italy at WCG2008 Finals
Singapore strikes gold in World Cyber Games (WCG)
Team also wins a silver at World Cyber Games
By Tham Yuen-C

A SINGAPORE gamer has delivered the Republic's first gold medal from the World Cyber Games (WCG), considered the Olympics of the cybergaming world.
Mr Jared Beins, 19, beat Mr Steven Anderson from the United States to become the top player of mobile phone game Asphalt 4.
Another medal, a silver, came from Mr Danny Koo, 28 in the fighting game Virtua Fighter 5.
'The best part was waving the Singapore flag for the first time ever,' said Mr Beins, whose gaming name is Slyfoxlover.
The national serviceman was representing Singapore for the first time at an international meet, and had set aside two hours every day in the last three months to practise the car racing game.
It was the first year that mobile phone games were played at the WCG, in a bid to attract a wider range of competitors.
'They're very simple,' said Mr Beins, of mobile phone games. 'Anybody can figure them out.'
Aside from those, casual games such as Guitar Hero III and Fifa 2008 were also introduced this year.
Singapore fielded 19 gamers in nine games at the annual tournament's grand finals in Cologne, Germany. Some 800 players from 78 countries competed in 14 computer, console and mobile games such as Warcraft III and Halo 3.
Singapore's other medal, from another WCG newbie, Mr Koo, was hard-fought.
'When my teammate Wilson [Chia] lost against the US, I was really nervous,' he said.
Players assume different characters with different skills in the hand-to-hand combat game. The business development manager of a fine-dining restaurant lost in the final round to Japan's Hiromiki Kumada, the country's top player.
'He's won a lot of national tournaments,' said Mr Koo, who went to Japan in August to spar with the gamers there.
To compete on the world stage, players first have to win their regional championships.
The wins put Singapore in the top seven of the medal tally - behind gaming powerhouses like first place-winner South Korea which was followed by the Netherlands and the US - and more than made up for the disappointing performance at last year's tournament.
At the WCG finals in Seattle last year, all but one of Singapore's top gamers crashed out after the first round.
'We're an underdog, no one expected us to get two medals,' said Mr Herman Ng, managing director of Rapture Gaming and manager of the Singapore team.
